How to Create a Brand System

Let your brand stand out with HeyGen Brand Systems!

Written by Support L2

A Brand System is a handy collection of your brand's key elements like logos, colors, fonts, images, and videos. It helps you keep your content looking consistent and professional across all your projects. On HeyGen, a Brand System lets you quickly apply your branding to videos and graphics, so you don't have to adjust everything manually each time.

🛎️ Note: Brand Systems is available for all paid plans: Creator, Pro, Business, and Enterprise.

💡 HeyGen Brand has three components: Brand System (visual assets — logos, colors, fonts, motion designs), Brand Glossary (pronunciation and translation rules), and Brand Templates (pre-designed video layouts). This guide covers Brand System.

How to Create Your Brand System

To get started, click the Brand icon in the left navigation panel, then select Brand Systems. Click Add new to create a new Brand System (if you don't have one yet, the button reads New Brand System).

Option 1: Import from your website

Click on Add new, paste your brand's website URL and click Import. HeyGen will automatically detect your Logos, Colors, Fonts, Assets, Motion Designs and pre-populate your Brand System for you.

Option 2: Pick from the template gallery

Below the URL import field, you'll find a gallery of professionally designed Brand System templates. Browse by industry category and visual style, then click any card to preview it.

Category tabs:

  • General

  • Personal Brand

  • Course & E-Learning

  • Corporate Training

  • Creator Channels

  • Real Estate

Style groups within each category: Modern, Minimal, Bold, Elegant, Playful, Retro, and Professional. Each group has multiple named template designs (for example, Cartesian).

When you click a template, a preview opens with two options: Save this Brand System adds it to your Brand Systems as is, with its pre-configured colors, fonts, and compositions, and Customize lets you adjust it first. You can edit everything later, including colors, fonts, logos, and assets.

Inside Your Brand System

Once you've created or opened a Brand System, you'll see five tabs at the top: Brand Spec, Assets, Logos, Motion, and Avatars. Each tab manages a different part of your brand:

Brand Spec

The Brand Spec tab is your central brand configuration. On the left panel, manage your Colors (click Add a new color and pick a color or enter a HEX code) and Fonts (set Body, Caption, Display, Heading, and Heading 2 fonts). On the right, a live Frame Compositions preview shows how your brand will look in different video layouts.

Assets

The Assets tab stores your brand's images and videos. Click Upload Brand Assets to add files. Your uploads appear in a grid so you can reuse them across videos.

Logos

The Logos tab is dedicated to your brand's logo files. Click Upload Brand Logos to add your primary and alternate logo versions so they're always available when you apply your Brand System.

Motion

The Motion tab holds motion elements you save from Video Agent. Once you save a motion element in Video Agent, it appears here so you can reuse it.

Avatars

The Avatars tab lets you pick the avatars that represent your brand. Click Add Brand Avatar to choose avatars you want to use across your videos.

💡 Pro Tip: Use Make a copy (top right of any Brand System) to duplicate an existing Brand System and customize it for a different campaign or sub-brand — without starting from scratch.

File Size Limits

Please keep the following file size limits in mind when uploading to your Brand System:

Max resolution: Up to 4096 x 4096

Images/Logos: JPG, PNG up to 200MB (4167 x 4167)

Videos: MP4, MOV up to 200MB

Fonts: TTF, OTF up to 100MB

Brand Glossary

Brand Glossary is the second component of HeyGen Brand. It lets you control how specific words and phrases are pronounced or translated across all your videos — so your brand name, product names, and technical terms always sound and read exactly right, in any language.

To access Brand Glossary, click the Brand tab in the left navigation panel, then select Brand Glossary.

🛎️ Note: For step-by-step setup, see the full guide: How to Use Brand Glossary →

Brand Glossary includes two types of rules:

  • Pronunciation Rules – define how a word sounds in AI Studio TTS. Words with active pronunciation rules appear in italicized purple in the script editor.

  • Translation Rules – use Force Translate to set specific translations, or Don't Translate to keep terms unchanged across languages. These rules apply when you use Brand Glossary during Video Translation.

⚠️ Important: Brand Glossary must be selected each time you create a new video or translation — it is not applied automatically. For translations, select your glossary in the Advanced tab before starting.

Accessing Your Brand System

You can access and apply your Brand System directly from both AI Studio and Video Agent.

From AI Studio

Click Brand on the right menu of the AI Studio page, then select the Brand System you want to use.

From Video Agent

From your dashboard, click the + icon on the left side of the prompt box, select Brand System, and choose the one you want to use.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Who can access the Brand System feature?
Brand Systems are available on all paid plans (Creator, Pro, Business, and Enterprise).

Is there a limit to how many Brand Systems I can create?
No, there is no limit — you can create as many Brand Systems as you need!

Can I start from a template instead of building from scratch?
Yes! When creating a new Brand System, you'll find a gallery of ready-made templates organized by category (General, Personal Brand, Corporate Training, and more) and style (Modern, Minimal, Bold, Elegant, Playful, Retro, Professional). Click one to preview it, then save it as is or customize it.

Where can I access my Brand System after creating it?
From the Brand Systems tab in the left navigation, or directly within AI Studio and Video Agent.

What is Brand Glossary and how is it different from Brand System?
Brand System manages your visual assets (logos, colors, fonts, images, and videos). Brand Glossary manages how words are pronounced and translated. Both live under the Brand tab — you can use them independently or together for a fully consistent brand experience across all your content.

Does Brand Glossary apply automatically when I create videos?
No — Brand Glossary must be selected each time. In AI Studio, apply it from the Brand menu. In Video Translation, select it from the Advanced tab before starting your translation.
