How to Cancel or Pause your HeyGen Subscription

Pausing or canceling your HeyGen subscription is quick and simple, whether you're using the Desktop or the App. Check out the step-by-step guides below to get started!


Cancel or Pause Your Subscription on Desktop

  1. Click on your name in the top-left corner of the home screen to open your account settings.

  2. Find the "Subscriptions" option in the menu and click on it.

  3. In the Subscriptions section, look to the far right and find the downarrow next to the "Upgrade" button.

  4. Click on the arrow, then select the Cancel Plan button to complete the unsubscribe process or Pause Plan to temporarily pause your payments. If you cancel, the subscription will cancel at the end of the current billing cycle.

🛎️ Note: Pausing your plan does not cancel it entirely—it simply postpones the next charge by 30 days from your last billing cycle date [it does not pause indefinitely]. For example, if your billing date is January 1st and you pause your plan before that date, you won’t be charged in January, but your billing will resume on February 1st.

If you'd like to 'Pause Indefinitely', we recommend canceling your account. All of your amazing content will still be accessible when you're ready to sign back up!


Cancel Your Subscription in the HeyGen App

  1. Tap the Settings ⚙️ icon on your home screen.

  2. At the top of the screen, tap your Apple ID (your name).

3. Choose Subscriptions from the list.

4. Locate the HeyGen subscription you want to cancel.

5. Select Cancel Subscription and Confirm your choice. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the billing cycle.

⚠️ Important: Deleting the HeyGen App from your phone does not automatically cancel your subscription. Please follow the above steps to ensure proper cancelation.


Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I thought I cancelled my plan - why are you still sending invoices?

If you think you canceled your plan and your account is showing up as FREE, but you are still receiving payment reminders or charges, please reach out to [email protected]. It is likely that you paused your account instead of canceling it. We would be happy to get that sorted for you!

If I cancel my account, will I lose my videos / avatars?
If you cancel or pause your account, you will not lose any of your content! You will be switched to a Free tier plan and can keep all of your previous videos under Projects. Your avatar slot allocation will go down from 3 to 1 so you will only have 1 avatar available. The other two avatars will not be deleted, just unavailable to use until you will switch back to a paid plan.
