What Is Face Swap?
Face Swap lets you replace the original face in a video or image with a new face from one of your HeyGen avatars or from a photo you upload. The system automatically maps facial features and lighting to create a realistic result while keeping the avatar’s movements and expressions intact.
It’s especially useful for:
Giving your avatar a custom appearance that resembles you or your brand representative
Creating unique looks for different projects or campaigns
Experimenting with visual styles for marketing, training, or entertainment
How to Access FaceSwap
Go to Apps in HeyGen and select Face Swap.
You’ll be redirected to the Face Swap interface.
How to Use Face Swap
Choose your original content
Select the video or image you want to modify. You can:
Upload a video or image from your gallery.
Choose from the sample videos, GIFs, and entertaining content available directly in Face Swap.
Choose the new face
Select the face you want to use for the swap. You can:
Choose an avatar already available in your HeyGen profile.
Upload a new photo from your gallery.
Generate the Face Swap
Click Face Swap to start the generation.Review your result
Once processing is complete, the original video or image will keep its overall content and movement, but the original face will be replaced with your selected face.
For the best results, use a clear reference photo where the face is easy to see and matches the general angle and lighting of the original content.
Note:
Make sure to choose a photo that's at least 720p.
For best results, choose a well-lit photo with a clearly visible face, looking directly at the camera.
Avoid photos that show side profiles, are overexposed or blurry, include masks, or feature cartoon-style images.
