Credits are the usage system for HeyGen’s credit-based paid plans.

Instead of using a mix of unlimited features and a smaller Premium Credit pool, credit-based plans use one main credit balance across supported video generation and asset creation features. This makes it easier to understand what your plan includes and how much each feature costs.

Each paid credit-based plan includes a monthly credit amount:

Credits can be used for supported HeyGen features like Avatar III, Avatar IV / V, Video Agent, video translation, B-roll generation, Generate Looks, and more.

Creator includes 600 credits per month.

If you run out of credits on Creator, you can upgrade to Pro for more credits. Creator does not support one-time credit purchases.

Pro starts at 1,000 credits per month and can scale up to higher credit tiers depending on your needs.

If you run out of credits on Pro, you can upgrade to a higher Pro tier with more monthly credits. Pro does not use one-time credit packs. Instead, you can choose the Pro tier that best matches your expected usage.

Business includes 1,500 credits per month.

If you run out of credits on Business, you can purchase additional credits or turn on auto-reload.

Additional Business credits cost $0.05 per credit and are purchased in blocks of 100 credits for $5. You can use the + and - buttons in the add-ons flow to increase or decrease the number of credit blocks before checkout.

Different features use credits at different rates. Some features are charged per minute of generated output, while others use a fixed number of credits per generation.

​AvatarIV / Avatar V: Turn a single photo and script into a realistic talking video using our advanced AvatarIV / Avatar V models. Each 1 credit equals 3 seconds of AvatarIV or Avatar V Video.

Custom Expressive Motion: You can prompt and customize the movement of your avatar in our Studio to be more expressive or more specific to your prompt. This is only available when using Avatar IV and will increase the cost of that specific scene by 2x. Meaning if the scene you're adding motion to is 30 seconds, you would be charged 10 seconds for AvatarIV and another 10 for custom expressive motion.

Generate Looks: Use a text prompt to generate Avatar Looks from scratch, or generate new Avatar Looks from photos using a trained AI model. 1 Credit equals one Look Generation.

AI Model Training: Train a custom AI model trained from your photos, and generate more looks using a trained AI model. 60 Credits equals to one Training of the photar model.

Video Translation: Credits allow you to generate video translation with lipsync ( Audio-dubbing no lipsync translations are unlimited for paid plans) by providing 1 minute of video translation per 5 credits. We also offer precision mode which costs 2x the credits, meaning 10 credits per minute.

Generate Assets: Instantly create custom visuals powered by 8 of the world’s top AI models such as Nano Banana, Recraft v4, Seedream, Runway, and more. Whether you need striking images or dynamic video clips, just type your idea and watch it come to life.

Video Generation via integrations: To create videos via one of our integrations ( HubSpot, Clay, Zapier, Make, and n8n ) you can now use Credits instead of the old API-based model. You still need to create the integration via the platforms' API but no need for API credits! the credit cost here is based on the feature you're using to create videos, e.g if you're creating Studio videos with AvatarIV, it would use 20 credits per 1 minute of video.

Creator users cannot purchase one-time credit packs.

If you need more credits, you can upgrade to Pro from your Plan & Billing settings.

Pro users can get more credits by upgrading to a higher Pro tier.

To upgrade:

When you upgrade mid-cycle, you’ll be charged the prorated difference and receive the additional credits right away. Your full new credit allocation will apply at the start of your next billing cycle.

Business users can purchase one-time-packs that are not subscription add-ons and are purchased once to recharge your account with credits.

Yes. Business users can buy additional credits in 100-credit blocks. The minimum purchase is $5 for 100 credits, and each additional block adds another 100 credits for $5.
