What are Premium Credit Packs?
Premium Credit Packs are available as add-ons to all HeyGen paid plans such as Creator, Pro, and Business plans. Premium Credits allow you to continue using HeyGen's advanced AI features after you've used up your monthly plan default credit allowance.
Each of our paid plans has Default Premium Credits as part of the plan's benefits, and you can always purchase Premium Credits Packs add-ons to your subscription if you need more!
Creator: 200 default Premium Credits per billing cycle.
Pro: 2,000 default Premium Credits per billing cycle.
Business: 1,000 default Premium Credits per billing cycle.
HeyGen premium credits can come from two places, and they follow different rules:
Default credits (included with your plan)
These are the credits that come automatically with your paid subscription.
They renew on your plan's schedule:
Monthly plan: refreshes on your billing date.
Annual plan: refreshes monthly on the same day-of-month you originally subscribed (example below).
They expire after 30 days.
Example (Annual plan):
If you bought an Annual Creator plan on January 17, you’ll receive your monthly default credit allocation on the 17th of each month.
Premium Credit Add-on packs (extra credits you purchase)
These are separate from your plan’s default credits.
If you’re on a monthly plan
Your add-on pack renews on the same date as your main subscription.
You’ll be charged for the plan + the add-on each billing cycle unless you remove the add-on before renewal.
Example: Creator ($29) + $15-credit add-on → next renewal charge is $44 (until the add-on is removed).
If you’re on an annual plan
Add-ons are annual only (no monthly/one-time add-ons on annual plans).
You’re charged once per year, and you receive all premium credits upfront.
Example: Annual add-on pack ($150) → you receive 3,600 Premium Credits immediately.
Expiration rule for purchased add-on credits
Purchased add-on credits expire 90 days after your plan renews (you get an extra 3 months to use them).
You can only use them while your main subscription is active.
If you cancel and drop to the Free plan, unused purchased credits expire and can’t be used

How Premium Credits Apply to Each Feature
Premium credits unlocks more usage for the following Premium features:
AvatarIV : Turn a single photo and script into a realistic talking video using our advanced AvatarIV model. Each 1 Premium credit equals 3 seconds of AvatarIV Video.
Add Motion: Each add motion to photars converts a still image to a 5-10s video with full background and body motion. 10 Premium Credits equals one Motion adding.
Upscale Video: Converts your motion video to a 4K resolution video. 10 Premium Credits equals one upscaling.
Generate Looks: Use a text prompt to generate Avatar Looks from scratch, or generate new Avatar Looks from photos using a trained AI model. 1 Premium Credit equals one Look Generation.
AI Model Training: Train a custom AI model trained from your photos, and generate more looks using a trained AI model. 20 Premium Credits equals to one Training of the photar model.
Video Translation: Premium Credits allow you to generate video translation with lipsync ( Audio-dubbing no lipsync translations are unlimited for paid plans) by providing 1 minute of video translation per 5 credits. We also offer precision mode which costs 2x the credits, meaning 10 credits per minute.
Generate Assets: Instantly create custom visuals powered by 8 of the world’s top AI models. Whether you need striking images or dynamic video clips, just type your idea and watch it come to life. (1 image = 2 credits, 1 video = 15 credits)
Video Generation via integrations: To create videos via one of our integrations ( HubSpot, Clay, Zapier, Make, and n8n ) you can now use Premium Credits instead of the old API-based model. You still need to create the integration via the platforms' API but no need for API credits! the credit cost here is based on the feature you're using to create videos, e.g if you're creating Studio videos with AvatarIV, it would use 20 credits per 1 minute of video.

🛎️ Note: HeyGen automatically generates 3 looks at once, which uses 3 credits, so keep this in mind as you map out your usage.
🛎️ Note: For translations specifically, one $15 Premium Credits pack includes 300 credits. Video Translation uses 5 credits per minute, so each pack adds 60 minutes total. If you need more than 60 minutes, you can buy multiple packs.
How Can I Purchase Premium Credits?
Our Premium Credits Packs are monthly add-on subscription to your main subscription- Creator, Pro, or Business plans.. As you purchase and use add-ons, please remember they are tied to your main Creator, Pro, or Business plan. If you cancel your main plan, any active add-ons will be cancelled as well.
If not cancelled, add-ons will automatically renew at your next subscription renewal date, in addition to your Creator, Pro, or Business plans.
Any add-on you purchase will renew on the same date as your subscription, so best to be mindful of that and purchase the add-on only when you have enough time left on your subscription to use it.
Unused credits / priority videos will not transfer to the next billing cycle automatically if the plan and add-on are not renewed. You must have an active HeyGen subscription ( Creator/Pro/Business) to have an active add-on.

Out of Credits Prompt
When you run out of Premium Credits you should receive a pop-up message that offers you to purchase Premium Credit packs. Simply select the number of packs you need and complete your purchase to continue creating.
