Video Agent — Quality Mode vs. Unlimited Mode (Free vs. Paid)

Use the Video Agent to turn prompts into finished videos. This guide explains how Quality Mode (premium) and Unlimited Mode (fallback) work, what’s included on Free vs. Paid, and how credits, minutes, and edits are counted.

Lets define the different terms first:

Session = one video chat session (original render + its edits) in the Agent.

Edit = a prompt/script/layout change made in the Agent.

Duration = exported video length.

Generative credits = usage currency for premium generation in Quality Mode.

Conversion = 1 minute = 20 credits (credits scale linearly with exported duration).

  • Add-on credits available to keep using Quality Mode after you use included minutes.

  • When you’ve used your included minutes and have no credits available, you’ll see a fallback choice:

    1. Buy credits to continue in Quality Mode, or

    2. Proceed in Unlimited Mode (no additional cost; no premium models).

  • Edits: Up to 5 prompt-based edits per session are free if duration doesn’t increase; if you increase duration, usage is recalculated to your new max duration.

Modes 101

Quality Mode (premium)

  • What it uses: High-cost, premium models & assets (e.g., Avatar IV, AI media like Veo3, Consistent Characters) plus your uploaded footage and stock.

  • Who gets it: Paid (primary) and Free (strict caps).

  • How it’s billed (Paid):

    • 15 video minutes/month included.

    • Usage converts at 1 minute = 20 credits.

    • Buy add-on credits to continue in Quality beyond included minutes.

Credit math examples (Paid):

  • 0:30 video → 10 credits

  • 0:45 video → 15 credits

  • 1:30 video → 30 credits

(Credits scale linearly with exported duration.)

Edits in Quality Mode (Free & Paid):

  • Up to 5 prompt-based edits per session are free if you don’t increase duration.

  • If you increase duration, you’re charged based on the new max duration for that session.

Unlimited Mode (fallback for Paid)

  • When it appears: You’ve used your included minutes on the paid plan and have no credits available in Quality Mode.

  • What it uses: Lower-cost assets onlystock public avatars with unlimited mode, your uploaded footage, and stock footage.

    • Not available here: Avatar IV, Consistent Characters, and other AI media.

  • What it costs: Free for Paid users (no credits consumed).

  • How it’s revealed: As a fallback choice with user confirmation

What you will see from the chat agent when you’re out of minutes/credits (Paid):

  1. Buy credits to continue in Quality Mode, or

  2. Proceed in Unlimited Mode (free; no premium models).

Editing & the Editor (important distinction)

  • Agent prompt-based edits (in-session, GA): Free up to 5 per session, provided you don’t extend duration.

  • Editor-based edits (opening your video in the separate Editor): billed by the Editor’s own credit/pricing systemseparate from the Agent.

    • Editor usage does not consume Agent credits and does not count toward the Agent’s 5 free prompt-based edits.

What happens when I hit my limit on the Paid Plan?

  1. You submit a render in Quality Mode.

  2. System checks your included minutes and credit balance.

  3. If you’re out (no included minutes remaining and no credits available), you’ll see a choice:

    • Buy credits (stay in Quality Mode)

    • Continue in Unlimited Mode (free; no premium models)

  4. Your selection applies to that render/session.

Recommendation: If brand fidelity or specific premium models matter (e.g., Consistent Characters), choose Buy credits to remain in Quality Mode.

FAQs

Do Free users get Unlimited Mode?

No. Unlimited Mode is only an option for customers on the paid plans.

How are minutes and credits counted in Quality Mode (Paid)?

By exported duration. Conversion: 1 minute = 20 credits (e.g., 45 seconds = 15 credits).

Are prompt-based edits really free?

Yes—up to 5 per session are free if you don’t increase duration. Extending duration recalculates usage to the new max duration.

What’s excluded from Unlimited Mode?

Premium/high-cost assets such as Avatar IV, Consistent Characters, and other AI media.

Can I choose Unlimited Mode upfront?

No. Unlimited Mode appears only when you’re out of included minutes and credits.

Do Editor edits use Agent credits or count against my 5 edits?

No. The Editor has its own credit/pricing system. Editor edits don’t consume Agent credits and don’t count toward the Agent’s 5 free prompt-based edits.

Best Practices

  • Use Quality Mode for brand-sensitive work (ads, external videos, consistent characters).

  • Use Unlimited Mode for drafting, internal comms, and iteration where premium models aren’t required.

  • Keep edits ≤ 5 and avoid increasing duration when you want to minimize usage.

  • When a premium feature is essential, top up credits instead of falling back.
