2 Ways to Record Footage
We offer two ways to record footage for your Instant Avatar:
Upload a Google Drive or local video file
Record with webcam
Regardless of which recording method you choose, you will need to record a video of the consent statement. The consent statement video must be from the same person as the footage.
Shooting Tips
We recommend using professional cameras (The higher quality the better). Mobile phones or webcam can also work.
Choose a quiet environment with good lighting for recording.
Record at least one 2-minute long uninterrupted speech.
We recommend filming it at 1080p for higher Avatar resolution quality. The effect of 4K 60FPS will be even better.
Do not edit or cut the footage in the middle, make sure it is a continuous shot.
Do not walk or move around, stand still and avoid sudden head motions or unnatural body movements. Be natural and calm. Your avatar will perform exactly the same way as you do.
Please maintain direct eye contact with the camera at all times during the recording. Avoid looking around or up and down during the recording.
Please try to keep hand movements below chest level and avoid raising them above your chest.
Take pauses with lips closed in between sentences. Make sure you take pauses with eyes looking at the camera.
2-3 second pause at the start of the video
1-2 second pause in the middle between long sentences

What's the difference between the Credits plan and the Avatar plan?
The Avatar and Credits plans are two different offerings. The Credits plan allocates a specific number of minutes for producing videos, while the Avatar plan ensures that your custom avatar model remains current and updated.
Does the Avatar plan include credits?

Can I remove the background with 'Instant Avatar'?
Our 'Instant Avatar' does not have a background removal feature. If you need to remove the background, you would need to upgrade to the Finetuned version, which utilizes the AI matting feature to remove the background. However, please be aware that the quality of background removal depends on the quality of your footage. Factors such as obstructions in the background or uneven lighting can affect the effectiveness of AI background removal. Alternatively, you can also consider purchasing the 'Studio Avatar' version which offers professional-level manual background removal.
What steps can I take when shooting footage to ensure optimal results for background removal?

If you have purchased a 'Finetuned Avatar', we recommend shooting in front of a pure white background with no obstructions behind you for optimal results.
Can I stand or sit while shooting?
You can either stand or sit while shooting, but please ensure that your face remains clear and visible and that you are facing the camera directly.
Can 'Instant Avatar' support generative outfit features?
Instant Avatar does not support the generative outfit feature. The generative outfit feature is only available for enterprise users through the custom Studio Avatar version.
Can I export a 4K resolution video using Instant Avatar?
Instant Avatar does not support exporting videos in 4K resolution. To export a 4K resolution video, you would need to upgrade to the Finetune version and subscribe to the Business or Enterprise plan. Additionally, ensure that the materials you upload are in 4K resolution to be able to export in 4K.
Can I export a video with a transparent background?
Yes. You can select a solid color background in the editing interface to export a video with a transparent background.
How can I use my own voice?
Instant Avatar has the voice cloning feature. After cloning your voice, your avatar will use your voice in the preview video. You can also customize the voice clone separately and select it in the TTS section of the editing page.
Can I add more slots for Instant Avatar?
If you are a free user, you have only one slot to create an instant avatar. If you are a paying user (purchased the Creator/Business plan), you have three slots to create instant avatars.
If you want more than 3 slots, you will need to upgrade to the Enterprise plan.
What's the difference between Instant Avatar and Finetuned?
Instant Avatar is free and intended for low-cost previewing of your avatar's effects. Finetuned is a paid version that offers higher-quality lip syncing and voice cloning. You can find more information about the differences between Instant Avatar and Finetune Avatar through the link provided.

What is the refund policy for a Finetuned Avatar?
You can cancel your Finetuned subscription by checking your plan. Typically, while using an Instant Avatar, you can preview your avatar's effects for free and choose to upgrade to the higher-quality lip syncing in the Finetuned version. If you are dissatisfied with the lip syncing in the Finetuned version, we can offer one free re-do opportunity. But if you wish to request a refund due to dissatisfaction with the material recording quality, we do not support refunds for the current month's subscription fee.
How are the hand movements and facial expressions of the Avatar generated?
The hand movements and facial expressions of your avatar are derived from your original materials. If your original materials do not include hand movements or contain too many hand movements, your avatar will exhibit the same behavior. The same principle applies to facial expressions; if your avatar did not display any expressions in the original materials, it will reflect the same. Therefore, we recommend that if you want your avatar to have rich and natural hand movements and cheerful expressions, you can adjust your hand movements and facial expressions when capturing the materials.
After I've created the voice clone, how do I use it in my avatar?
You can select your avatar, go to the editing page, click on the voice entry in the lower right corner, and choose your voice clone.
Should the consent video feature the same individual as seen in the footage video?
Yes, the consent video should feature the same individual as seen in the footage video. Furthermore, we do not support the creation of avatars for non-human entities, the unauthorized use of others' videos, or any materials created through third-party AIGC platforms.
Can I create avatars for children or teenagers?
It is our responsibility to ensure the safety and protection of our users, especially when it comes to children. Therefore, we would like to inform you that our platform does not support the creation of instant avatars for children and teenagers.
