What Is Motion Designer?
Motion Designer lets you create AI-generated motion graphics — such as animated text effects, data visualizations, and concept illustrations — without needing complex design software.
These soundless graphics can be downloaded, used in the Video Agent studio, or integrated into other video projects to enhance storytelling and visual clarity.
This feature is ideal for creators, marketers, educators, and production teams who want to quickly visualize ideas, concepts, or data without relying on manual animation. It’s perfect for adding dynamic visuals to explain complex topics, emphasize key points in presentations, or create polished intro and outro sequences.

How to Use Motion Designer
1. Open the Motion Designer tool
Hover over Create, then hover over Apps, and select Motion Designer from the dropdown menu.
2. Start designing your motion graphic
You can either:
Choose a design template from the library, or
Click the “+” icon to create a new motion graphic from scratch.
If using a template:
Hover over your desired template and click Customize.
Describe how you’d like to modify it in the text box.
Set your orientation (portrait or landscape) and privacy settings.
Click Generate Asset to create your motion graphic.
A counter beside the Generate Asset button will show how many generations you have left based on your available credits.
3. Create from scratch (optional)
If you choose to start from scratch:
You can upload a reference video to use as the background for your motion graphic.
In the text box, describe your topic, idea, or any specific instructions.
Select your desired orientation and privacy setting.
If you tick Private, the asset remains visible only to you.
Leaving it unchecked allows HeyGen to feature it in our marketing and social channels.
Once ready, click Generate Asset.
4. Use your generated motion graphic
Once generated, you can:
Copy the Source Prompt to reuse your same instructions in future projects.
View in full screen or download the motion graphic.
Use it directly in the Video Agent studio as a visual element for your next project.
