🛎️ Note: Avatar IV videos are designed for speed and simplicity, so they come with a few limitations. You won’t be able to edit Avatar IV videos in Studio or use the “Edit as new” option. Additionally, usage is credit-limited based on your plan— see the breakdown below for details.
As well, AvatarIV is currently in its initial launch phase, which means you may see changes to how it appears on your dashboard, how it integrates with Studio, and even how quota usage is tracked. We’re actively improving the experience, so stay tuned for updates!

How to Get Started with Avatar IV
You’ll find Avatar IV right on the HeyGen homepage—just look for the Photo to Video with Avatar IV button.
Generate a Video with Avatar IV
First, upload your photo. Then either write your script or upload an audio file. If you're using a written script, select your preferred voice. Once everything’s set, click Generate to create your video. It really is that simple!
💡 Pro Tip: Try uploading a song as your audio input—your avatar will sing it back with realistic lip-sync and expression!
Usage Limits by Subscription Type
Depending on your HeyGen plan, you’ll have monthly access to create a limited number of short videos with Avatar IV:

Out of Minutes? New Generative Credit Packs
Generative Credit Packs are available as add-ons and can be used flexibly for Avatar IV and Motion generations. If you're on a Creator or Team plan, you already receive a monthly allowance of 300 seconds of Avatar IV and 20 Motion generations. The Generative Credit Pack gives you additional credits beyond that monthly allowance.
🛎️ Note: Both the built-in generative credits and add-on generative credits will reset on the 1st of each calendar month, regardless of your billing date. Credit packs are, like other add-ons, a subscription-based feature and will renew monthly.
Generative Credit Pack Pricing
Each pack contains 300 Generative Credits and costs $15 for monthly subscribers or $150 per year for annual subscribers. You can purchase multiple packs as needed.

1 Motion photo generation = 10 Generative Credits
How to Purchase
To purchase a Generative Credit Pack, go to Settings, navigate to the Subscriptions & API section, click on Manage Add-ons, and then select Buy Now under Generative Credit Pack.
