Whether you’re crafting a single video or multiple, your digital twin can now go beyond the classic front-facing look for more dynamic and engaging scenes.

Each Look can capture a distinct pose or expression, making your avatar library much more versatile and expressive across different video scenes.

For Video Looks, the avatar is generated directly from the original video footage, making the results very realistic, you can use them as a reference.

Each avatar can now have up to 500 looks [photo avatar and video avatar combined], all tied to the same identity. If you previously had three different avatars of yourself, they are now considered one avatar with three “looks.” You can upload footage of yourself from different angles, poses, outfits, and locations, making your videos more engaging and dynamic.

How much does it cost?
There’s no additional cost for creating video looks under your allocated slot. Photo looks that are generated, not uploaded, do cost some premium credits as per this article. This feature is available for every avatar slot, on all plans, both free and paid.

Every avatar is built from three separable parts — knowing which is which helps you understand how Looks work and how to troubleshoot faster:

A single video delivers all three at once, since video is audio plus thousands of photo frames. That's why a strong video reference makes every Look better — it teaches the AI how you move across expressions. You can swap the Look or Voice separately afterward.

Once you've completed those steps, you can easily create more looks for this person! The process is the same as creating your avatar- just upload or record your footage and design your new look!

Photo Looks vs. Video Looks:

Your avatar can include both Photo Looks and Video Looks. A Photo Look can come from a real photo you upload or be designed with AI using prompts, references, and Look Packs.

A Video Look is created directly from uploaded video footage and reflects what was captured in that original footage, making it the best option when you want the Look to stay fully grounded in your real recording.

To create a new Look, click “Add Looks"

You can choose from several ways to provide your source photo or video:

For Looks, you only need to record the consent video once when creating your avatar. There’s no need to re-record it each time, since it is the same person you originally provided consent for.

You can create up to 500 looks per avatar slot [photo avatar and video avatar combined] and delete or create new ones at any time, offering virtually unlimited looks.

To add a video look, you must upload a 2+ minute video of the person, with their face visible and uncovered throughout. All footage must feature the same person as in the avatar consent footage, uploading footage of someone else will cause the upload to fail.

When creating videos in AI Studio, you can select an avatar and choose the look you want to use. Switching between multiple looks for different scenes can make your videos feel more natural and engaging.

All your existing avatars will be grouped by identity. If you had multiple video avatars of the same person, they have been grouped together as a single avatar, and each footage upload is called a Look.

Once you have a few Looks based on real pictures, you can start using the Design a Look section to create entirely new variations of your avatar without recording new footage.

Start by selecting an existing Look as your base. This gives the generation a strong identity reference and helps maintain consistency across your new Looks.

Once your look is ready, you can always delete it if you don’t like it to free up a spot for a new one or edit it using prompts.

Remember you're not just making a photo — you're making a look that gets lip-synced into video, so some poses work against you:

💡 Want real movement in your video? Use Cinematic mode (Seedance 2.0) instead of trying to force motion into a static look. Cinematic gives you dynamic, director-style shots in up to 15-second clips.

💡 Pro move: Lock in one great setting, generate 10–20 outfit variations in it, and cycle through them when posting daily — keeps your content fresh without looking automated.

Once you’ve created an Avatar Look, you don’t always need to generate a completely new one to explore variations.

Simply click on the Look you want to modify. This opens a set of options that let you either refine the existing appearance or create new variations based on that Look.

From there, you can:

Depending on the available controls, you can fine-tune details such as:

Adjust the sliders until you’re happy with the result, then select Save as new to preserve the edited version as a new Look.

Want the same Look from another perspective? Select Camera angles to generate additional views of your existing Look.

This is useful when you want more visual variety between scenes without completely changing your avatar’s outfit, environment, or overall visual identity.

Select Custom edit when you know exactly what you want to change.

Simply describe the modification in your own prompt. This works best for targeted changes, such as adjusting clothing, colors, accessories, or details in the environment.

Replace the background with a modern office.

💡 Best practice: Make one focused change at a time. Small custom edits are more likely to preserve your identity than asking the model to completely redesign the Look in a single prompt. This is consistent with the existing recommended workflow of using larger Look changes first, followed by smaller custom edits.

Use Remix into a Scene to jump directly into the Design Look page, where you can take your existing Look in new creative directions.

From there, you can use your Look as a reference and modify it with a prompt, add additional reference images, or apply a Look Pack directly to create a new outfit, setting, pose, or overall scene.

This gives you a quick way to build new variations from an existing Look while keeping your avatar as the creative starting point.

Can I create Looks for different people under the same avatar?
No. Avatar Looks are tied to a single person, and all looks must be created using footage of the same person who provided consent. You cannot mix looks of different people under one avatar.

How many Looks can I create?
You can create unlimited looks for each avatar, but you can store up to 500 at a time. You can delete old looks and add new ones without any limits on deletions.

Do I need to provide consent for every new look?
No. You only need to provide consent once for the first look. Any additional looks can be added as long as they match the original footage.

What kind of videos can I use for Avatar Looks?
You need to upload a video of at least 2 minutes where your face is clearly visible and uncovered throughout. It should be clear footage of the person who provided consent.

Yes! You can delete and create new looks as often as you like. For the avatar itself, you have one redo per billing cycle month. This means you can delete your avatar and looks once per cycle and create a new one. After two deletions, you won't be able to create a third identity avatar.
