How to Access Your Camera and Mic Using a Computer

You'll need your camera and microphone to create Digital Twin (video avatar) and record your Voice. Let's get you set up.

Turn on Cam & Mic

Click the Use camera & microphone button and select Allow to grant the HeyGen App permission to access your camera and microphone.

Error: Device Not Authorized

  1. Click the site controls icon (sliders/tune icon) to the left of the address bar.

  2. In the permissions menu, locate Camera and Microphone.

  3. Toggle both permissions On.

  4. Refresh the HeyGen page.

Safari

  1. Click on the Safari menu in the top left corner and open Settings.

  2. Go to Websites and find the "Camera" and "Microphone" options in the left-hand list. Set the permissions for the Heygen App to Allow ✔️ in both categories.

  3. Refresh the page.


Error: Low Camera Resolution

Please make sure your camera has a minimum resolution of 480px for both width and height. If your computer's front-facing camera doesn't meet this requirement, you can resolve the issue by connecting an external device.


Error: The Device is Occupied

For some Windows devices, simultaneous streaming from multiple applications is not supported. Please make sure that no other applications are using the camera streaming simultaneously. If you find any, please close those applications and try again.
